Dear Colleague,

As schools settle in to the new year, you'll no doubt be aware that the new Ofsted framework for school inspection has come into force this month. For the first time school inspection focuses on the needs of lesbian, gay and bisexual pupils as a specific group and makes reference to prejudice-based bullying relating to sexual orientation.

That's why in 2012 we'll continue working closely with local authorities through our
Education Champions programme, as well as help individual schools through our new School Champions programme meet their requirements under the new framework to prevent and tackle homophobic bullying and support LGB young people; and our annual Education for All conference on Thursday July 5 at The British Library will equip you with all the practical information you need to do so. Save the date today and we'll let you know as soon as booking opens for this essential event.

To find out more about the support Stonewall can offer you in the year ahead, email
education@stonewall.org.uk or call 08000 50 20 20.

p.s.
Five years on from Stonewall's ground-breaking research, The School Report , we're again calling on lesbian, gay and bisexual young people to tell us what life's like for them in Britain's schools today. Young people aged 11-19 can take part in the survey at

Planning a Civil Partnership?

Did you come to terms with your sexuality later in life?

Were you previously married to someone of the opposite sex?

The BAFTA award-winning team at The Garden Productions, who made the first series of One Born Every Minute and more recently, 24 Hours in A&E, is making a new documentary series for Channel 4 about love and relationships.

We would like to hear from same-sex couples planning a civil partnership between now and March 2012. Perhaps one or both of you came to terms with your sexuality later inlife. Maybe you were previously married and you have children from that relationship. Whatever your story, we would like to hear from you.

Please email love@thegardenproductions.tv or call Becky on 020 3465 9060 to find out more.

Getting in touch does not oblige you to take part in the series
